What I wore … Modernism Week Elrod House Cocktail Reception

Modernism Week in Palm Springs has been one amazing event after another. Our first event to kick off the week was a cocktail reception at the Elrod House designed by John Launter. This brilliant piece of architecture was featured in the Diamonds are Forever movie with Sean Connery. What I personally love about the house is its unique shape, it feels a little like a spaceship. But in that “wow-this-spaceship-is-actually-an-architectural-beauty-and-what-a-view-I-think-I’ll-stay-for-a-while” sort of feel. The view of the desert below and it’s twinkling city lights does make you feel like an alien just stopping by to enjoy the scenery. The pool itself is breathtaking–it’s both indoor and outdoor. So my outfit, while my necklace says Gothic, that wasn’t what I was going for. I was sort of channeling Bond Villain / Visiting Extraterrestrial or perhaps how people might dress in 2052.
